Buying a Used Geely EX5 (2025 on): SE, Pro, Max or Ultra & What to Pay

By Elace Grace··7 min read

The Geely EX5 is a family-sized electric SUV and Geely’s first UK model. The Chinese group also owns Volvo, Polestar and Lotus. UK sales began in autumn 2025 from £31,990, followed by first deliveries in late October. Most listings advertise new or ex-demo EX5s, with used examples accounting for fewer than a third. We cover trims, warranty and owner reports, particularly comparing used prices against heavily discounted new cars. There is a print-out checklist at the end.

The short version
  • New cars are discounted hard: new Pros had advertised prices around £25,500 against a £33,990 list price; nearly new Pro examples ask around £23,100.
  • 8-year warranty: 8 years on the car (6 plus a 2-year extension) and 8 on the battery.
  • Five-star safety: Euro NCAP, 2025.
  • The 2026 Ultra uses a larger 68 kWh battery for 280 miles WLTP, although used examples remain uncommon.

Which EX5 are you looking at?

  • SE (£31,990): 60.2 kWh LFP battery, 267 miles WLTP, 18-inch wheels, heated seats and steering wheel, 360-degree camera.
  • Pro (£33,990): brings 19-inch wheels. The most frequently advertised used EX5.
  • Max (£36,990): adds a panoramic roof, electric tailgate, ventilated massage seats, head-up display and upgraded audio; 255 miles.
  • Ultra (£38,990, from April 2026): a 68.39 kWh battery for 280 miles, towing capacity up to 750 kg and additional driver aids.

Every version has a 215bhp front motor, rapid charging up to 100 kW (around 20 minutes for 30–80%), 11 kW AC charging, a heat pump and vehicle-to-load. Figures are list prices, excluding Geely’s own discounts. Complete specifications are on the EX5 page.

Recalls

The government recall list recorded no Geely recalls during October 2026. Still check the individual car using GOV.UK’s recall checker and ask whether its software updates are complete.

Warranty

Geely covers the EX5 for 8 years in total (a 6-year warranty plus a 2-year extension), with an 8-year battery warranty, 4 years of roadside assistance and 2 years of free maintenance from new. Ask the seller for the warranty booklet to confirm mileage limits and what transfers to you.

  • Registered 2025: car and battery covered to 2033.
  • Registered 2026: car and battery covered to 2034.

Realistic range

Our estimates for typical cars of each age use the battery-ageing model applied throughout the rest of EVcarsguide:

CarSummerYear-roundWinter
2025 Pro / Max (60 kWh)213 miles187 miles157 miles
2026 Ultra (68 kWh)238 miles209 miles176 miles

These figures assume the battery has aged like a typical car’s. Gentle driving beats them, while fast motorway driving falls short.

What owners report

There is little to report so far. The EX5 reached UK roads only in late 2025, and our forum searches uncovered almost no owner discussion about it. Without that history, the 8-year warranty, a test drive and an insurance quote carry extra importance. An owner summary will follow when sufficient material is available.

What to pay

Used EX5s are nearly new examples showing a few thousand miles, predominantly 2026 Pros. The table separates them by year and trim:

CarsShare of advertsMedian askingTypical rangeMedian mileage
2025 Pro11%£22,911£21,718–£23,6005,373
2026 Pro47%£23,099£22,050–£23,9652,681
2025 Max11%£25,999£25,090–£27,4006,232
2026 Max28%£27,995£26,836–£28,8281,272

Used or new? New and ex-demo listings were substantially below list price, at roughly £25,500 for a Pro and £35,200 for a Max, while Ultras retained the full £38,990. At roughly £23,100 a nearly new Pro saves only a couple of thousand against new, whereas a nearly new Max at around £28,000 saves more. Treat these as asking prices rather than valuations.

Questions to ask the seller

  1. Which trim is it, and is it the 60 kWh or the 68 kWh battery?
  2. Was this Geely a demonstrator or pre-registered car, and can the seller document its previous use?
  3. Can the seller provide written terms confirming whether any servicing or roadside cover transfers to the next owner?
  4. Which software updates have been installed on this Geely, and can you check the current version during the viewing?
  5. Are both keys and the charging cable included?
