Audi’s electric executive car, the A6 e-tron, has been offered as a sleek Sportback or Avant estate since late 2024. A smaller-battery 2025 Sportback was priced at £62,500 new and now asks about £38,000. Here we explain the versions, realistic range, charging, warranty and expected prices for new and used cars. You’ll find a print-out checklist at the end.
- Price the new car first: new or delivery-mileage stock makes up two in five advertised A6 e-trons, often priced well below list.
- Best value used: a 2025 Sportback 83 kWh at about £38,000, with under 7,000 miles.
- Want range? The 100 kWh performance is officially good for 463 miles (Sportback) and asks about £8,500 more.
- Battery cover: 8 years / 100,000 miles, so every car has most of it left.
Which version of the A6 e-tron is it?
All A6 e-trons are fully electric. Petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid A6 Saloons and Avants are different cars. There are three versions, each available as a Sportback or Avant; these are their UK launch prices:
| Version | Peak power | Battery (usable) | Official range | From new |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sportback 83 kWh | 326 PS | 75.8 kWh | 382 miles | £62,500 |
| Sportback performance | 381 PS | 94.9 kWh | 463 miles | £69,900 |
| Sportback quattro | 462 PS | 94.9 kWh | 438 miles | £75,000 |
| Avant 83 kWh | 326 PS | 75.8 kWh | 361 miles | £64,300 |
| Avant performance | 381 PS | 94.9 kWh | 437 miles | £71,700 |
| Avant quattro | 462 PS | 94.9 kWh | 415 miles | £76,800 |
The 83 kWh and performance versions use rear-wheel drive, while quattro adds a front motor. The performance versions launched first in 2024, followed by customer deliveries of the 83 kWh and quattro in early 2025. Advert titles use “83kWh” or “100kWh”, followed by “Performance” or “quattro”. Trim choices are Sport, S line, Edition 1 and Black Edition. The quicker S6 e-tron is a distinct model. Full specifications appear on the A6 Sportback e-tron and A6 Avant e-tron pages.
Realistic range
These estimates cover a typical example of each version, using the same battery-ageing model used elsewhere on EVcarsguide:
| Car | Summer | Year-round | Winter |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2025 Sportback 83 kWh | 317 miles | 279 miles | 234 miles |
| 2025 Sportback performance | 383 miles | 337 miles | 284 miles |
| 2025 Sportback quattro | 363 miles | 319 miles | 268 miles |
| 2025 Avant performance | 362 miles | 319 miles | 268 miles |
Our figures assume a healthy battery delivers about 85% of official range in mild weather. We have not found any owner range figures yet. Compared with an equivalent Sportback, the Avant has slightly less range.
Battery Health Estimator
Estimated condition if buying used
NMC chemistry - good longevity with proper charging habits
Estimates based on battery chemistry and age. Chemistry-based estimate. Actual health varies with charging habits, climate, and usage.
Charging
At home it charges at up to 11 kW for a full charge overnight. The 100 kWh versions rapid-charge at up to 270 kW and the 83 kWh up to 225 kW; Audi quotes 10–80% in around 21 minutes for the 100 kWh versions.
Warranty
Audi covers the battery for 8 years or 100,000 miles from first registration:
- Registered 2024: battery covered to 2032, or 100,000 miles if sooner.
- Registered 2025: battery covered to 2033, or 100,000 miles if sooner.
- Registered 2026: battery covered to 2034, or 100,000 miles if sooner.
Most used examples retain Audi car warranty cover as well; check the relevant date in the service book.
Recalls
- Front seat belts (R/2025/426): 28 A6 e-trons built in July 2025 may have damage to part of the belt force limiter. Replacement belts are fitted.
- Seat-belt buckle (R/2025/508): four A6s built March to April 2025 may be missing a rivet from a seat-belt buckle.

Safety
Euro NCAP gave the A6 e-tron five stars in 2025.
What owners report
There is little ownership discussion for such a new car: the threads we found concern its launch rather than everyday use. Refer to the general checks in our used EV buyer’s guide, and ask the seller how it has been.
What to pay
Every used A6 e-tron advertised is a 2025 or 2026 example with under 7,000 miles. The remaining adverts cover new or delivery-mileage stock.
| Cars | Share of adverts | Median asking | Typical range | Median mileage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sportback 83 kWh, 2025 | 6% | £37,998 | £35,594–£43,910 | 6,600 |
| Sportback 83 kWh, 2026 | 11% | £40,949 | £39,311–£47,379 | 3,698 |
| Sportback performance, 2025 | 9% | £46,541 | £39,722–£48,012 | 6,615 |
| Sportback performance, 2026 | 11% | £49,500 | £47,342–£52,992 | 4,661 |
| Sportback quattro, 2026 | 14% | £52,598 | £49,999–£54,462 | 6,500 |
| Avant 83 kWh, 2025 | 6% | £41,750 | £36,617–£47,395 | 6,854 |
| Avant 83 kWh, 2026 | 14% | £42,688 | £38,690–£54,895 | 3,654 |
| Avant performance, 2025 | 7% | £44,500 | £42,248–£48,590 | 4,409 |
| Avant performance, 2026 | 10% | £50,992 | £48,945–£53,200 | 3,309 |
| Avant quattro, 2026 | 6% | £57,700 | £54,418–£76,484 | 6,000 |
These are asking prices rather than valuations. A 2025 Sportback 83 kWh has shed about £24,500 of its £62,500 launch price within a year. In-stock new 83 kWh Sportbacks had advertised median prices around £51,000, so a nearly new used example still saves about £10,000: compare equivalent cars before deciding.
Questions to ask the seller
- Which battery and drive: 83 kWh, 100 kWh performance or quattro?
- Which trim, and which option packs (head-up display, sound system, virtual mirrors)?
- How much car warranty remains, and does it have an Audi service history?
- Was it a demonstrator, company or lease car?
